"No one who achieves success

The wise and confident
acknowledge this help with gratitude."
~Alfred North Whitehead

learning about Facebook, Blogger, digital cameras,
photo editing and of course Pinterest ~

to get a new business up and running.

As impersonal as all the technology is,
I have met some of the most warm,
gracious, truly giving friends through the interactions of the world wide web!

You have held me up, given me pep talks,
laughed with me

The Road Less Traveled and the Cow Conundrum

Early Fall ~
the leaves are still green,
the sun is warm.

Traveling down a less traveled road,
beauty fills every glance.

Barbed wire fencing and remnants
of an old water trough decorate the road side.

Once around the curve in the road,
a scene of tranquil beauty opened up before me.

Open spaces, rolling hills
and cows, lots of cows.

There were momma cows, baby cows, and bulls,
white cows, brown cows and spotted cows ~

As I turned to look to the other side of the road,
I saw this strange tool
hanging from the barbed wire fence.
I stopped to take a closer look.

And then I met the nicest,
mild mannered, young man.

He explained that the cows
had gotten loose earlier
and were meandering down the road.

The fence needed repairs.

He was gracious enough
to let me snap a few photos.

That big tool is called a fence stretcher

He had another tool held tight between his knees that looked like a giant wrench....

that is what he used to crimp the splice.
The splice holds two pieces of wire together.

Well, you don't say!

You learn something
new every day!

Fix your Fence in 3 Fast & Easy steps.

  1. Put a fence stretcher on the wire you want to repair.  Cut the slack wire with the Splice-It Crimp 'N Cut tool.
  2. Cut off excess wire, leaving enough wire to extend past the splice 1/2" on either side.  Put ends of wire through splice.
  3. A plier works great for tapping the splice through the wire.   Crimp the splice 3 to 4 times with the Splice-It Crimp 'N Cut tool. Remove the fence stretcher.

All the escapees were herded back in the fields
and all was right with the world ~ again!

 Sweet little one!

 The mountain scenery was beautiful.

As I came to the end of the road ~

I realized what I would have missed,
had I not chosen the road less traveled.
